Rescreen

Privacy Policy

Last updated 14 August 2026

This policy explains what personal information Rescreen collects, why, who we share it with, and what you can do about it. It covers this website and the Rescreen application.

Who we are

Rescreen is a product operated from San Francisco, California. In this policy "we", "us" and "Rescreen" mean that business. You can reach us athello@rescreen.so.

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, we handle your information in line with the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, and we act as the controller of it. If you are a California resident, the rights described below include those given to you by the California Consumer Privacy Act.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist

Your email address, and the fact that you submitted it from this site. That is all the form sends.

When you buy something

Payments are taken on Stripe's own hosted checkout page. Your card number never reaches our site or our servers. Stripe passes us your name, email address, billing country and the last four digits of your card so we can identify the purchase and provide support.

When you use the website

We use PostHog to understand how the site is used. It records:

Our host, Google Firebase, also keeps standard server logs including your IP address, for security and diagnostics.

When you use the Rescreen application

Your recordings — video, audio and the transcript generated from them — are processed so the product can do what you asked it to. We treat recordings as confidential. We do not use them to train machine learning models, and we do not review them except where you explicitly ask us to for support, or where we are legally required to.

Why we use it

To provide the product and take payment for it; to reply when you contact us; to understand and improve how the product is used; to keep the service secure; and to meet our legal and tax obligations.

If you are in the UK or EEA, our lawful bases are: performance of a contract (providing the product, taking payment), legitimate interests (analytics, security, improving the product), consent where you have given it, and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We use the following providers to run the business:

ProviderWhat forWhereWhat they receive
StripePaymentsIreland / United StatesName, email, billing country, card details (collected by Stripe, never by us)
LoopsWaitlist and product emailUnited StatesEmail address
PostHogProduct analytics and session replayUnited StatesUsage events, pages viewed, device and browser, truncated IP, session recordings
Google Firebase HostingWebsite hostingUnited StatesIP address and request logs

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim. If the business is ever sold, information may transfer with it — you would be told before that happened.

Sending information overseas

Our providers are based in the United States and Ireland, so if you are outside those places your information is stored and processed abroad. We rely on those providers' contractual protections, including Standard Contractual Clauses where the UK or EU GDPR applies. Using the site means accepting that your information will be handled overseas.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and browser storage set by PostHog to recognise a returning visit and to tie a session together. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

You can block or clear cookies in your browser at any time. Doing so will not stop you using the site.

How long we keep it

Waitlist emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Records of purchases are kept for seven years, because tax and accounting law requires it. Analytics data and session recordings are kept in line with the retention period set in our PostHog account. Recordings you make in the product are kept until you delete them or close your account.

Security

Everything is served over HTTPS, and access to the systems above is limited to people who need it. No service can promise perfect security, but if a breach ever put you at likely risk of serious harm, we would notify you and the relevant regulator as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

Email hello@rescreen.so and we will respond within 30 days. Every marketing email we send also has an unsubscribe link.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to your local data protection regulator — in the UK or EEA, your supervisory authority; in California, the California Privacy Protection Agency.

Children

Rescreen is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We will update this policy as the product changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell waitlist members and customers by email.
